Junior Trainer had no idea what caused it , there he and bluey the cob were firing on all plus two cylinders and suddenly Bluey came to an abrupt halt ,spun around and went from zero speed to 80 miles an hour in 5 seconds flat , unfortunately not in a direction prescribed by any of the tests moves. They were literally flying with the judges taking a stand that one assume when a low flying airplane comes towards you , with you pondering “ have I bent low enough or is he going to clip my head in one go”.
The rest of the day Junior Trainer was feeling down and miserable , it was of no help other riders assuring him that it was one of those things, can happened to any body THIS IS HORSES.
They dont understand , it was his first premier league show , Bluey the cob was going really well and then they blew it.
One of the people to show most compassion and sympathy was a senior competitor that still with the winners sash in his hand and bag full of prizes on his shoulder found the time to console and commiserate with Junior Trainer, offering valuable advice how to handle situations as this in the future.
Between snivels' Junior Trainer said “No one understand it was bluey’s best ever test , one more movement and I even would have BEATEN YOUR SCORE “.
Senior Competitor put a gentle hand on Junior’s shoulder and said “ Son I understands much more then you know, why do you think as you were cantering toward the top of the arena I OPENED my UMBRELLA ”.
