Flossy is well known to many on the British Dressage Forum as a teller of interesting stories and perhaps the odd joke or two. We have selected a few tales for your pleasure.

The danger of work in hand

Senior trainer was supporting a noticeable bump in the head, black and blue exactly where many years ago was covered by a healthy shock of hair, today a shining smooth landing strip but obviously with a bump.

He was asked by other Senior Trainers how he came about this injury his reply was some what alarming and disconcerting “My assistant, Junior trainer gave it to me” what has come to the dressage world has horse abuse now spread to trainer abuse, “can you please elaborate “ Senior Trainer was asked by his concerned peers fearing their students may resort to the same actions in retaliation to a demanding lesson.

“Well it was like this” Senior Trainer explained “I was doing my very best to help Junior Trainer master the work in hand technique, but he seemed to have no feel for this what's for ever, his use of the whip was clumsy, in effective and totally with the wrong timing, he would tap the leg to soon , to late or with out commitment , the horse was getting so confused he must have thought he had P, Prately behind him,

As a last resort I told junior hold the whip like this and when I nod my head you hit it - his timing was perfect the idiot!!!”
