Over 150 systems installed in the UK and overseas.

The value of a well maintained, dust free covered riding area is known to all. Unfortunately, most products which are available are complicated and expensive.

After lengthy research we have found the right answer to the technical and financial problems.

Combining our knowledge of the rider's needs with that of a specialist in sophisticated irrigation systems we have developed a product which:-

- Works off the mains in most cases and does not require a pump or tank, it may be used as often as required.

- Is easy to erect at a reasonable price (can be supplied as a DIY kit).

- Is easy to operate and nearly maintenance free.

- Has specially designed sprinklers giving a micro spray of droplets for an even dampening of the ground without creating puddles or bogs.

- Can be provided with manual control or with electronic automatic timing.

- And each system will be designed according to your requirements.

To illustrate the practicality of the 'Dust Free Ride System' here at Sheepcote we have a system available for inspection and demonstration. It covers an area of 21m x 55m, is manually controlled off the mains and it does the whole school in three five minute sessions.

Indoor Arena - DFR Technical Info.

The system is made of maintenance free polyethylene pipes which are attached directly to the beams with plastic ties. The sprinklers are directly fitted to the pipes. The sprinklers are a special design that requires a very low volume of water pressure, and gives a rail-like effect over the riding surface.

A 20m x 40m school requires 28 sprinklers which will spray approx. 500 ltrs./100 gals. of water every 10 minutes, which will be sufficient to dampen the surface for a dust free ride. This is a guideline as weather conditions and the type of surface will determine the exact amount of water required. The system will be divided into several spray lines which may be operated one or more at a time, according to the pressure available.

The system requires no maintenance and is easily operated from one control area. Parts included in the system are filter, pipes, sprinklers, drain valves, control valves and ties. Erection - (unless faced with unusual circumstances) the system requires approx. one day to fit and erect.

Outdoor Arena - DFR Watering System

We aim to avoid using expensive and, often unsightly, tanks and pumps although we can of course provide these if circumstances and need dictates. Our system uses modern pop-up sprinklers which are situated around the perimeter of the arena. The sprinklers are operated in groups according to the pressure available from one control area. Computerised or manual options are available. Through correct calculations of pressure, flow and with our knowledge of the appropriate kit to use, we are able, in most cases, to fit a system that operates off the mains water whilst keeping prices as low as possible. Economy systems, fully automated systems and individual sprinklers. Prices on application according to requirements.

OUTDOOR WATERING SYSTEMS - CHOICES AND FURTHER INFORMATION

The watering system for outdoor arenas consist of a number of sprinklers situated around the perimeter of the arena. For safety reasons we install pop up sprinklers where possible. These sprinklers retract into a plastic case when not in use.

In choosing a "Dust Free Ride" watering system for your outdoor school, your choices are :

a) A system operating by a pump drawing water from self-filling tanks

b) A system operating off the mains water (providing your pressure is adequate)

The advantage of a pump operated system is that the arena can be watered in one or two sessions operating half or all sprinklers at an one time. If your circumstances are such that a quick dampening of the arena is required between riding periods then this is, in our opinion, the most suitable system for you.

The system operated off the mains water will operate one or two sprinkers at any one time, and watering time may take as long as is required to complete the whole cycle. This system is operated by an electronic timer whice turns on and off the system sprinklers in sequence. This system us useful for those that do not require the school to be dampened in quick short periods (the timer may be programmed to operate the system any time including nights).

with any system we are able to use a wide range of nozzles which gives us the flexibility to design a system most suitable for you.

For arenas up to a width of 22m and length of 60m, our standard system will be the most effective. In this system the pump can operate efficiently up to 10 sprinklers at a time. Arenas wider than 22m require larger sprinklers which operate individually. For this system an electronic timer is included to turn the spriklers on and off in sequence. Our largest system to date is for a 50m by 80m outdoor arena with rain guns.
